Brent is passionate about developing individuals’ talents so they can secure and maintain employment. He came to the field of workforce development after a 20-year corporate career in book publishing. His background includes roles in sales, marketing, and management. Prior to joining ICD, he volunteered in Ali Forney Center’s job readiness program for homeless LGBT youth, an extension of his previous experience there as a life coach. Brent went back to school for a Certificate in Professional Human Resources Management at Pace University and is an active member of New York City SHRM, the local HR professional group, where he serves on its Diversity & Inclusion and Workforce Readiness committees. Brent first counseled students as a non-teaching faculty member of Georgetown University, where he coordinated a summer program in Tokyo for Japanese teachers of English. He graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in Linguistics and an M.S. in Sociolinguistics.
